Researchers' Night talks on national TV
On the annual Faroese Researchers' Night - Vísindavøka - in September, researchers give short talks on their research to a public audience. In 2019, there were 16 talks with subjects from all research fields. The audience is mainly students from the Upper Secondary Schools, but also younger students, University students and the general public.
This year, the national television, KVF, recorded all the talks. Every Tuesday night at 19.30, right after the evening news, a talk is broadcasted. All talks are also available at the website.
This years' talks are all in Faroese, except one by Dr. Gethin Wyn Roberts entitled: "41 years of GPS - development and the problems with living in high lattitudes in terms of GPS"
The talks have been well received and the ambition is to repeat the success and record the talks of the 2020 Researchers' Night, which will be held on 25th of September at Sjóvinnuhúsið.
