Record-breaking Number of Applications for Research Funding

Research Council Faroe Islands received a total of 53 applications for research grants from the Faroese Parliament and from the Work Life research programme at the annual deadline on February 17th. More than half of the applications are for PhD projects.

The total amount applied for from both programmes is 59 MDKK. The Faroese Parliament has granted 9 MDKK for research in 2025 which is the same as last year. Up to 3 MDKK are available for Work Life research.

31 Project Leaders are female, 22 are male.

The number of applications for research funding is the highest ever received by Research Council Faroe Islands. 

Applicants can expect an answer no later than June 1st.
