Funding Granted for Two Research Projects on Foreign Affairs, Security, and Defence Policy

The Programme Committee for the Programme for Foreign Affairs, Security, and Defence Policy in the North Atlantic - FASDiNA - has granted a total of DKK 5,624,676 for two research projects. 

The projects are the first research projects to receive grants from the new research programme funded by the Danish Government and run by Research Council Faroe Islands.

The projects which have been funded are:

The Defence and Security Strategies of the Faroes and Greenland Amidst Great Power Rivalry.
Project leader: Heini í Skorini, Faculty of History and Social Sciences, University of the Faroe Islands
Funding: DKK 2,624,676  

Greenland's Alliance Dilemma Amidst Great Power Struggles - A Comparison with Arctic and Non-Arctic States and Regions
Project leader: Maria Ackrén, Nasiffik, University of Greenland
Funding: DKK 3,000,000

The overarching aim of the programme is to generate new knowledge on Foreign Affairs, Security, and Defence Policy in the North Atlantic.

Additionally, the programme aims to promote cooperation between the Faroe Islands, Greenland, and Denmark in this field and to support capacity building in this area in the Faroe Islands and Greenland.
