12 Applications for Marine Research in the North Atlantic

Research Council Faroe Islands has received 12 applications for funding from the programme Marine Research in the North Atlantic Ocean - MARiNAO.

The programme is funded by the Danish Parliament and administered by the Research Council. The aim of the programme is to generate new knowledge on the environment in the North Atlantic Ocean and to encourage collaborative research between Greenland, the Faroe Islands and Denmark.

The total amount applied for from this call is 42.6 MDKK. The funding available is 14.4 MDKK. The aim is to fund up to 4 projects. 

Most of the applications received are for PhD and other early career projects.  

The funding for this call is available under the condition that the Finance Act 2026 will be passed by the Danish Parliament.
